Walter H Yarwood was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy, the Ontario Group of Painters and the abstract expressionist group Painters Eleven. As a sculptor, Yarwood created numerous small and major commissioned pieces for government buildings, private corporations and Universities. He went on to teach in the Humber College Art Program before leaving Toronto to move to Lake Erie in 1979. The artist’s painting and sculpture works are included in the collections of major art institutions among them the National Art Gallery, Art Gallery Of Ontario, The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Museum London , Art Gallery of Hamilton and many private collections.
